Artist Statement
I am a transparent watercolorist and work primarily in my studio in
Denver from my own photography. My reference is collected on my regular
trips through Colorado the western United States, Asia, and Europe.
I feel that there is a texture that life in these regions creates,
and my vision as an artist is to communicate the textures, color,
and contrast in each region I visit. It is my sincere desire to create works
that excite the imagination of the viewer and open doors encouraging them
to seek there own connection with life in any area they visit.
I am what I would call a surviving corporate refuge who like many of us reevaluated my life's direction in the aftermath of September 11th.
No longer dedicated to the pursuit of the corporate goal of quicker cheaper I have redirected my life to the creation of the art that
I like many others had set aside to pursue the goals of the corporation.
My current goal is to create artworks that inspire persons to seek out texture in their lives and the lives of others.
I prefer to paint aging architectural and man made objects create in nature.
I also enjoy the layers created in reflections in glass and water.
